I get why that sounds like the sort of thing a brand says to sound wholesome. So let me tell you what’s actually in the process, who’s actually making it, and why that’s the whole reason these bars feel the way they do.
Meet Melissa, the Hands Behind Every Bar
Every Lucky 7 bar is handmade in Stanthorpe, on Queensland’s Apple Belt. Not designed there and shipped in from somewhere cheaper. Made there, batch by batch.
That’s not a detail we throw in for flavour. Viva La Body’s formulas, soap included, are built on 25 years of getting the ratios right. Melissa's techniques have been refined over more than 15 years of soap making.
We know exactly what goes into each bar, because we put it there ourselves.
Why We Bother With Handmade At All
Mass-produced soap is objectively easier to make. Bigger batches, identical formula every time, no dependency on one person’s hands and schedule.
We do it the harder way because it’s the only way to keep tabs on every single ingredient.
It also means that when something’s not working, we hear about it directly. Not through three layers of customer service. That keeps our quality high.
Handmade Is a Process, Not a Sticker on the Box
Every Lucky 7 bar starts the same way: real plant oils and butters combined with sodium hydroxide in a process called saponification. That reaction is what turns oil into soap. It’s also what creates natural glycerin, the stuff that keeps your skin from feeling like a stretched balloon after a shower.
The base is identical across the whole range. Safflower oil, coconut oil, shea butter, macadamia oil, cocoa butter and castor oil. Coconut oil builds the lather. Shea and macadamia soften. Cocoa butter keeps the bar firm enough to survive your shower for more than a week. Castor oil turns the foam creamy instead of thin.
Then we add what makes each bar its own. Real essential oils. Real mineral clays. Nothing hiding behind the word “fragrance” on a label, because we don’t use synthetic fragrance in any of it.

What’s Not in the Bar Matters as Much as What Is
Every Lucky 7 bar is paraben-free, sulphate-free and silicone-free. No synthetic fragrance. No palm oil. No plastic in our packaging, or when we ship orders to you.
That last one isn’t a small claim in an industry where palm oil turns up in soap constantly, because it makes bars cheap and hard. We use cocoa butter and a blend of plant oils to get the same firmness without it. It’s the same reason we don't allow palm oil in our shampoo bars too. Once you decide an ingredient isn’t worth the cost, it’s not worth it anywhere in the range.
If your skin’s ever felt tight and squeaky after a wash, that’s usually the soap’s fault, not your skin’s.
The Box Disappears On Purpose

Getting the Most Out of Every Bar
For the creamiest lather, use a sponge or loofah. Wash directly with the bar once or twice a week, rinse well, and let it drain properly between uses. A well-drained, well-ventilated bar lasts weeks longer than one left sitting in a puddle of its own making.
