Radiohead's 2027 Australian Tour Is Bankrolling Ocean Conservation

Radiohead just confirmed their 2027 Australian tour, and $2 from every ticket is going straight into ocean conservation, matched dollar for dollar by the band. Thom Yorke has form on this front: sharks, Antarctica, manatees, even a prehistoric stingray named in his honour, but this one lands close to home.

What's actually being funded

The $2-per-ticket contribution, plus Radiohead's matching donation, will be split between the Australian Marine Conservation Society and Greenpeace Australia Pacific, going toward protecting Australia's oceans, coasts and marine life. No separate opt-in box, no asterisk, it's built into the ticket price before anyone gets near the merch stand.

Why AMCS is chuffed

AMCS CEO Paul Gamblin called it "deep generosity to help us protect Australia's ocean, coasts and marine life." It's a rare case of a global touring act putting real, matched money behind a local conservation body rather than a one-off social post.

The bit that's actually the point

Baking protection into the price of something, rather than bolting it on as a guilt-trip add-on at checkout, is brilliant! Nobody has to tick a box to do the right thing, it just happens because the structure was built that way from the start.

At Viva love to build ocean-friendly choices into every thing we do, be it our all-natural, toxin-free formulas, or packaging that breaks down safely into nutrients for your garden. Reducing our impact is at the heart of everything we do.
