1. Who is Viva La Body?
Viva La Body is an Australian-made, Australian owned brand that specialises in solid personsal care products. Our range is handmade in South-East Queensland and features sustainable (plastic free) packaging and natural ingredients.
2. Where is the brand based and who are the founders?
Viva La Body was founded in 1999 by a husband-and-wife team, Jo and Micko, on Larrakia Country (Darwin region), Australia. Viva was purchased by another dynamic duo, Ellie (Go For Zero) and Murray in 2025 after Jo and Micko reckoned it was time for a well earned rest, and some long awaited travel. Today Viva is operated is proud to operate on Gabi Gabi country (Maroochydore region) on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
3. What are the core values of the brand?
- Cruelty-free, Palm oilil-free and Vegan formulations using all-natural ingredients.

4. What categories of products does Viva La Body offer?
The brand offers – among others – magensium deodorants, solid perfumes, handmade soap bars, handmade shampoo and conditioner bars, and eco-accessories (e.g., bamboo soap dishes, soap pouches). 5. Are Viva La Body products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. All Viva La Body products are certified vegan and cruelty-free.
6. Are the products palm-oil free?
Yes. All Viva La Body products and ingredients are certified Palm Oil-free through the Orangutan Alliance certification.
7. How is the packaging of Viva La Body products handled?
Packaging is specially designed to be home compostable by our in-house design team. We use home-compostable paper tubes and cartons for both our products and shipping boxes. 8. Where can I buy Viva La Body products?
You can purchase directly from the website (vivalabody.com). Additionally, there are retailers across Australia which stock the brand, including goforzero.com.au, floraandfauna.com.au and nourishedlife.com.au.
9. Does Viva La Body ship internationally?
Yes, we do - but to ensure we reduce climate impact we set minimum ordering of $250. We are also expaning operations into overseas markets, so please reach out if you’d like to see Viva La Body products at your favourite store please send us a mail love@vivalabody.com
10. Do the products contain aluminium, bicarbonate (bi-carb), or other common deodorant ingredients?
No! Viva La Body deodorants are formulated with no-aluminium, no-parabens, no-sulphates, no-silicones, and no-baking soda (bi-carb). Viva La Body are magnesium deodorants making them great for your pits, and all your other bits!
11. Why were shampoo, conditioner, or facial bars discontinued?
The solid hair & facial care rangeswere discontinued because a key emulsifier (Brassica alcohol) could no longer be obtained in a palm-oil-free form (which conflicted with their ethical standard). However we have found new manufacturers and these products will be back on shelves soon! Stay tuned.
12. What should I do if I have sensitive skin or allergies?
Please read the product label carefully, and check for allergies or sensitivities before purchase and seek medical advice if needed. Always perform a patch test for essential oils or natural ingredients. If you have further concerns please reach out to us, we’d be happy to talk you through any questions you have.
13. What is the brand’s environmental / conservation commitment?
Together with the Orangutan Alliance: Viva La Body donates to a tree-planting scheme in the Leuser Ecosystem in Sumatra for every soap sold they donate. To find out more go to: XXXX

17. Are the products handmade, and how does this affect availability?
Yes. Although we don’t no longer make them ourselves as Jo and Micko did, we work together with two family businesses on the Gold Coast and in Stanthorpe to maintain small-batch handmade production. This means certain items will vary slightly in form and look between batches. This is a great thing though, it means that you are getting a specialist product made by skilled local artisans.
18. How can I find the ingredients list for a product?
All products feature a full ingredient list on the packaging, as well as on each product page online. Also you can find a full overview of all ingredients on our ‘what’s in this?’ page.
19. Are products suitable for all skin/hair types?
While we only use natural ingredients, our products could still cause sensitivity in some individuals. We strongly advise checking ingredients with a medical professional if you have concerns, and patch testing before use.
20. What is the brand’s philosophy on packaging and waste?
We f***ing hate plastic. So all of Viva La Body product and shipping packaging that can be composted at home after use. Of course you can throw it in the yellow bin - but why note add it to you composter, dig a hole and bury it, or fill it with some soil and a few seeds and return it to the earth.
